business operations update from Giftcraft CEO, Trevor Cohen
It is hard to believe we are nearing four months since COVID-19 halted our economy in its tracks. On March 17, we transitioned to an at-home work force shortly thereafter suspending all warehouse operations in accordance with local governmental orders. Without missing a beat, our team quickly pivoted to our new normal, keeping the creative process moving forward and continuing to support you, our valued-retail partners, by helping you navigate your business needs during this challenging time. I am proud and honored to lead such a dedicated team.
On May 17, Giftcraft began the process of resuming limited warehouse operations with the shipping of our Stay Safe Masks. We are slowly expanding shipping in other categories in anticipation of resuming full warehouse operations on Monday, June 22. At that time, we will begin shipping all product categories, prioritizing those orders on-hold during our mandatory shutdown.
In resuming full warehouse operations, our top priority remains the health and safety of our employees and our community. We have enacted strict safety protocols including controlled access to the building, social distancing, temperature checks, personal protective equipment and frequent sanitation of work stations, common spaces and frequently touched surfaces. Additionally, our employees currently working from home will continue to do so with only those deemed essential required to work in the office. This is providing they are not at risk due to any pre-existing conditions which would make them more vulnerable to the impact of COVID-19.
UPCOMING SUMMER GIFT SHOWS
As many of you know, most of the Summer Gift Shows have either been rescheduled for a later date or canceled entirely. We recently sent a survey to many of you to determine if you plan to attend a show this summer. Understandably, the vast majority of those who responded indicated they did not plan on attending any shows this summer. I can certainly appreciate the reluctance to avoid travel and large gatherings at this time.
We anticipate a significant drop in attendance, however, Giftcraft’s showrooms in Atlanta and Las Vegas will be open, ready to service you and your product needs. We are excited for the opening of our new showroom in Atlanta on the 18th Floor of Building 2. Our new 20,000 sq. ft. showroom will feature every product category and brand allowing you the most comprehensive buying experience to date in Atlanta.
For those unable to attend, I am pleased to announce that we will be introducing a state-of-the-art virtual showroom this summer. Working with your Sales Representative, the virtual showroom will allow you to shop from all of our beautifully merchandised brands and categories from safety and comfort of your home or store. Please stay tuned for additional details in the very near future.
We have collectively cleared a major hurdle with the initial reopening of our economy. And while how we celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and milestone moments may change in the short-term, the need to commemorate the moment with a special gift has not. We have thousands of new and exciting product launches scheduled throughout the balance of the year to support you and help you move your business onward and upward.
